After a long break and then a house move and all the chaos that surrounds it, I've settled and almost finished a 2nd remix in the space of 2 months - which is definitely more like it :)
The composition projects have not been shelved, but are definitely on the back burner for a little while. What matters more is that the ideas are flowing again - and even more that the ideas are turning into music :D
The Paloma Faith remix is already submitted and avaialble for your ears on Indaba Music and the Papa Roach mix is very hot on its heels.
Is there time to remix Ms. Aguilera as well? I'm not too sure.
In the meantime, here's the one mentioned above...
The musical blog of Daz G - an independent composer and remixer/producer as well as the creator and presenter of the independent online electronic music show '11TroniX'. His on-going mission... to seek out new methods of creating music and new collaborators. To boldly go where no genre has gone before... and then get hopelessly lost in collaborations and remixes...whilst having a lot of fun along the way.

New release on the way :)
Yes I've been up to a few things since the last post - but there will be another extneded break as I'll be relocating shortly too.
In the meantime, here's a clip from my upcoming remix which is due to be released soon on an official remix EP by Ade Dickson who I'm thankful to for letting me give it my own interpretation.

More music to follow after the move!

Check out this submission in Mashup The Loft - Sounds Of Indaba on Indaba Music
My latest 'finished' creation!
There are several more being worked on at the moment... rest assured... and they will be included on an 8-track album entitled 'Songs from the Blue Room'. I'm not rushing them, and am working with some very talented fellow Indabians on these so the tracks should combine to create some very different but rich sounds. Trust me, the results so far are very encouraging... watch this space.
In the meantime, enjoy :)

VOTE IF YOU LIKE IT :D
You don't have to be an Indaba Member to vote either - just click vote, and it will send you an email confirmation, click the link you're sent and it's done!
I've risen from 70th place to 35th in about a week so any new votes are really important now. Hope you enjoy the mix!

New Remix Submission
This is hopefully the final... final... final, final edit.
Much discussions have taken place involving kick drums in particular but I feel it is finally there. Still time to tweak, but I'm happy with it:

Feeling inspired... tired, but inspired :))
Well I have to say the discovery of not only the 'Lights' remix opportunities - and in particular the track 'Toes'. It's that intoxicating combination of finding the track amazingly catchy and KNOWING you could give it a different feel.
I think by really being picky about the competitions I enter will definitely stand me in good stead now...I mean I thought I was picky before but I'm having to UP the picky factor in order to allow the original material and collaborations to have a chance.
A combination of that now being in full swing, along with the discovery of how to use a technique called 'Auto Ducking' (If you use Audacity) has meant that I feel thoroughly inspired and mentally - if not physically - energised. :))
Here is the result of the second Draft, and a demonstration of the above. Hope you like it... and ciao for now:

Creativity levels growing again ...
Ok I've just had a major slowdown in ideas and all thoughts of a creative nature due to several family related, Business related and outdoor DIY related issues during the last 7-8 weeks or so. These are now coming to a very slow conclusion and I'm starting to feel my brain waiting to let go a huge sigh of relief.
Be patient, brain... nearly there.
One collaborative project finished (http://www.indabamusic.com/asset/show/1598526) and several others to go, I feel the pull of one remix competition in particular due to its melodic properties and gorgeous vocals. I'm limiting myself to 1-2 of these per month. Surely that's safe isn't it? :oD
I feel the next post will arrive with a collection of new ideas :)
Ciao for now amigos...
